Full Day Old Cairo

Drive by one of our air-conditioned coaches to one of the most prominent features of the city:
The Cairo Tower is a free-standing concrete tower. It stands in Zamalek district on Gezira Island, in the city center. At 187 meters, it is the tallest all-concrete structure in the world with no steel beams or columns. The Cairo Tower was constructed from 1956 to 1961. Its partially open lattice-work design is intended to evoke a lotus plant. The tower is crowned by an observation deck and restaurant. The tower is 14 meters in diameter and rests on a steel reinforced concrete slab.
The visitor can enjoy the sight of Cairo from the top of the tower with the use of panoramic equipment attached to its terraces.

Then drive to visit Manial palace, which has been built in 1901 and belongs to the Prince Mohamed Ali between 1899 and 1929.  Prince Mohammad Ali is the first cousin of King Farouq and the younger brother of Khedive Abbas Hilmi. The complex consists of six structures. Among these structures is a museum in which Farouq's hunting trophies are found, the prince's residence and furnishings and a museum in which some of the family's memorabilia are found. There are also gardens that have beautiful plants and flowers. The palace also includes a collection of manuscripts, carpets, textiles, brass work, jewelry, silver, and crystal.
